SPANISH-EGYPTIAN MISSION AT DRA ABU EL-NAGA TOMBS OF DJEHUTY AND HERY (TT 11-12)
16th Season Report: January 18 th – February 25 th
At the shared open courtyard of two big 12th Dynasty rock-cut tombs a funerary garden was discovered, measuring 3 x 2.25 m and 0.40 m in height. The interior of each of the squares that conform the garden is filled with fertile and dark silt., and numerous seeds of different plant species were retrieved. At the eastern corner of the garden there is a tree, whose trunk is preserved to a height of 40 cm, with a diameter of 4.8 cm. It has been identified as a tamarisk and it lived more than twenty years.
